This is from Shawn Thomas, organizer of the bootstrap nonprofit group meeting in Austin:
Bootstrap Austin began as a source of information, community, and support for entrepreneurs dedicated to following a bootstrap approach to business development. During the next three years, the organization, which was founded by Bijoy Goswami, grew to include more than 700 members in 13 locations worldwide. Resources available to members include a website (bootstrapaustin.org), a yahoo group, a wiki, a web based network similar to linkedin, and a blog. The organization also grew to include a number of subgroups, one of which is the nonprofit subgroup. The Bootstrap Austin Nonprofit Subgroup seeks to exist as a powerful source of energy, knowledge, experience, and inspiration for, and a community of, socially minded bootstrap entrepreneurs and leaders. It connects to members using the resources developed by Bootstrap Austin as well as its own yahoo group. For further information about the subgroup or about how to join, contact Shawn Thomas.
