This is the page where I’ll post tips for getting the most out of this site. Be forewarned…this is ALSO the page where I’ll be asking YOU to help out with this blog. I don’t have all of the features built in, yet so blog geeks of the world, step foreward and make yourselves known. I know I could probably learn everything I need to know to make this blog work the way I want, but I would rather be posting!
I’ll start posting my requests for tools and toys that will make this blog even more useful to my network.
OK, here are a couple of problems…
The RSS feed at the top of the page should take you to: http://www.texasforums.wordpress.com/feed/. It doesn’t take you any place! The comment below will let you subscribe to the current comment, but not to the entire blog. What is going on?
None of the templates I have tried with the current set up look right in Internet Explorer. They all put part (if not all) of the sidebar comments on the right hand side at the bottom of the page. Very frustrating. I know that the Light template developer has an alternative that involves loading the newest version of key files to our server. I don’t know how to do that.
I’m frustrated that people can’t subscribe to my blog and they can’t really read it in Explorer. HELP!!!

your google rss feed isn’t working because you and everyone (i think) would have to have a google account to login into and have access
you could share it and link to a url, but every time you had a new post, you’d have to log in and mark it as a shared item
so i suggest——to do the following

Don’t ‘cha just hate when things don’t work the way you want them too?
1. Your RSS feed works fine. Sort of. If you click on the orange graphic it takes you straight to the correct feed. Wahoo! But if you click on the text “RSS FEED” that’s just to the right of your feed graphic, then it leads you back to the home page of this blog. Not so Wahoo-ish! Maybe update that if it’s not the affect you were wanting folks to experience.
2. Re: The double sidebar look. If you are using the standard templates available for you in wordpress and hosting your blog on their servers as you are now…. try using the template called: Andreas09 . It seems to be the only one (as of this writing) with both a left and right column that works well. Note that when using that template when you are fiddling around with your individual “page templates” you’ll get a different affect with the WYSIWYG look for the pages.
Each individual page template varies slightly. That particular template offers various color changes too. Although they don’t offer one with a navy blue that matches your other related sites, I believe if you use the color scheme referred to as “striped red” it might give your users the feeling of connectivity with those other sites, because of the matching red you’ve used in them. Especially the flag banner that runs across the top of your forums.
FYI – I can read your blog in IE just fine. If I scroll to the lower portions of your page, I can see the contents of that left sidebar. A bit wacky and clunky for sure! But still readable. If you change templates as suggested above I believe you may be happier with the results in IE. If you really just hate the idea of using that template, I can certainly help you with creating more user friendly ways of presenting your blog to your viewers. Just holler out to me. I can also subscribe to your feed just fine. But primarily because I’m just geeky enough to look at where the hyperlinks were leading me. If you change your textural link to the feed URL rather than to the front page of your blog, I believe you’ll achieve the affect you really want your viewers to experience.

Guess what… I was fooling around with my own wordpress template today and found a new one added that might fit your double sidebar yearning AND your dark blue color scheme. IMHO it’s a cleaner layout as well!
Maybe give the “Garland” template a try. It’s sleek and VERY EASY on the eyes. Perfect for your type of content. And easier to manage than the one I mentioned above, because it doesn’t have multiple page templates in it.
