People of color...grassroots approach

We are peoples of many colors. A young Brad Bennett in the large group said that he didn’t want the “black covenant” brought up tonight to seem exclusive or about an oppressed people. He said he would not want it to be a top-down approach. John Hanson, moderator for the evening, said that it is a bottom-up approach (grassroots). John Fleming said that he has not lived the life that his parents did but that he is lucky they paved the way for him. He said that the black community has often taken what others have to say about them versus creating their own voice.
